I am giving her the tiniest bite of Pancake for breakfast that morning!

February

February (6months on the 25th)

6 months old!! I can't believe 6 months went by so fast. I remember people telling me in the hospital when Parker was born to soak it all up because it goes by fast! And they were right. But they have been the best 6 months of my life. The memories both good and bad have been amazing. I've learned so much about myself, Matt and Parker. February was a great month (I think I've said that about each month)! We went to the Zoo with some friends that have a little girl who is almost 1, Parker got to meet her Great Aunt Boo and we started feeding her solid foods. She turned 6 months on the 25 and instead of taking her to get pictures made, I took some myself. She also got to swing for the first time at the park. The weather is starting to get better and Parker loves being outside! She talks and sings and smiles so much every time we step outside.

Here Parker is at the Zoo loving every minute of it!

This in swinging for the first time. I tried to capture that big smile, but it's hard to do that while pushing her.

We started Parker on solid food and she loves it. She kicks her feet and smiles and makes her happy little noises as soon as we put her in the highchair! I have decided to make her baby food and have really enjoyed it. It's super easy and I love knowing exactly what she is getting. It's super healthy for her and it's fun to experiment with new foods. So far, we have fed her Sweet Potato, Peas, Green Beans, Butternut Squash, Pears, Banana and Mango. She has loved each of them!

We drove to Knoxville to meet my mom and Aunt for lunch one day. They had been in Kentucky and were headed back to Atlanta. It was a great lunch and Parker got to meet her Great Aunt Boo.

I love you Boo!!

Hello!

January

Happy New Year! I was sad to see 2009 leave. It was an incredible year and it will always hold a special place in my heart. However, 2010 is going to have some pretty special moments too! January was a pretty relaxed month for us. After all the traveling for the holidays and taking full advantage of being so close to family we were pooped!!! Parker is continuing to grow more and more each month and we had another great milestone in January, she started sitting up! I also was able to get Parker's hair into her first ever pigtails! No, I'm not trying to brag and I know I am in the minority that gets to play with her babies hair at such a young age. But I can't, not talk about it. It's apart of who she is and I apologize to my sister's that had to wait 18 months for their little girls to have hair and to the other mom friends of mine that have to wait on hair for their little girls for posting pictures of pigtails. But.... look how cute she is! hehehe Well that's about all for January, see I told you it was relaxed!!

December

December (4months on the 25th)
So as you can tell , I'm no good at this whole lay out. I don't know why everything is so spaced out and all, so sorry for that. But at least I'm doing this, right?!?

Ok so onto December! Still, lots going on in that month, too! My 2 best friends from childhood made a visit to see Parker and we had a blast!!! They ate her up and we had a great girls weekend. We went down to Matt's parents house and Parker got to meet her Great Aunt Judy, we got to celebrate Parker's first Christmas and she had a great milestone Christmas day...she rolled over for the first time and we caught it on tape! It was awesome!
We did have a not so good day thrown into December, but the outcome was positive. Remember wayyyyy back when I posted about how Parker was spitting up so much? Well...her DR. wanted to run some tests to see if there was something internally wrong with her. We went down to the Children's Hospital in Knoxville and spent a looooong day and a half there. They did three tests on Parker and the results showed that her stomach does not empty properly. So she is now on acid reflux medicine and a medicine that helps her stomach empty. It is something she will grow out of and we go for a follow up appointment this week to find out how much longer she will need to be on the medicine. I can tell that is is working and she is doing much much better now:) Ok time for the fun part...pictures!!!

Here is Parker with Joanna and Lindsay. The three of us have been best friends since elementary school!! Joanna is getting married in May and so most of the weekend was spent talking about babies and weddings! It was a great time and I can't wait for the 3 of us to get together again at Joanna's wedding:)

Here are 2 pictures of us at the hospital. The tape on Parker is to hold a tube that they had to put down her nose into her esophagus. It measured the level of acid in her stomach when she spit up. It had to be in for 24 hours and it looks worse that it really was. She didn't really notice it, and we put socks on her hands so she couldn't pull it out. The tough part was that she didn't sleep well and I ended up being up for over 24 hours that day. It was all worth it though, we found out what was wrong and are able to fix it:)

Parker got to meet her Great Aunt Judy in the beginning of December when we went down for Matt to go hunting.

Santa, Santa, Santa!!! We took Parker up to the mall here in town to meet Santa! She was at the perfect age because she was still young enough to not be attached to Matt and I. And she had no clue what was going on so she wasn't scared of Santa! I put her in a great little Christmas dress that she inherited from her cousin. This year we decided not to travel for Christmas. I wanted to spend our first Christmas as a family in our new home with our new baby. I decorated the house and put up our tree and it was perfect!

November

November (3months old Nov.25)

We had lots of fun seeing family in November! It is so wonderful that Matt and I live so close now! We have had a lot of firsts in 2009! First home, first baby, and first time we've been able to spend a holiday with BOTH sides of the family! These pictures are from when we went to see Matt's parents in the beginning of November. I am obsessed with taking pictures and making memories! If you are a friend of mine on facebook, you have probably figured that out! These first pictures are some of my all time favorite! I love that one with Parker and her grand and great grand mothers! And then there is the one with 4 generations. I think it's so neat that I was able to capture this sweet, sweet time with her family!!

Matt attempted his first marathon in the middle of November. We went down to Chattanooga and he and his "little bother" David Begley both ran in the marathon. Unfortunately Matt has some foot problems and was only able to complete 20.5 miles (still amazing) but he wishes he could have finished. We were able to stay with family of the Begleys and Jay ,Sara and Kate came too! Here is Matt with his childhood friend and their little girls! They are such good daddies!

Thanksgiving was a really special time for us this year. It was the very, very first time we were able to spend it with both families and I hosted my first Thanksgiving. Matt's parents came up Wednesday-Friday and we cooked a ton of food and had a great time. They just love Parker to pieces and we really enjoy spending time with them.

Then on Friday Matt and I drove to my parents house and we had Thanksgiving on Saturday with my side of the family. Parker got to meet my brother and sister-in-law and lots of Gammages! Here she is with my brother! He has 3 boys and so it's neat to see him with a little girl:) This is Parker in the lap of her Aunt Sha-Sha. She also got to meet my sister, Sharon for the first time! I didn't get a picture of them together, but this Parker smiling at her so happily!

This next picture is of almost all the cousins on my side of the family. We are missing 2 amazing girls, Morgan and Dakota. Sweet Morgan is away at college(I still don't believe she is in college) and her sister Dakota was up visiting her... They have yet to meet Missy P, but they soon will. We love them so much!

Here is a great picture of the babies in the morning. All still in their cozies and playing so sweetly together!!

We are BACK!

Hello!!!! Thought I was gone for good, huh? So did I! But I've been thinking about it, and I really want to keep updating this blog. Life has been pretty crazy and I have lots of updates for y'all!! I just spent the past 45 min going over the last 5 months in pictures and have come up with our most favorite moments to blog about. I may not go into a lot of detail about some pictures, but each one was picked out to mark the special memory of Parker's first 6 months.

October highlights (2 months old Oct.25): Meeting Jamie, Great Grandmothers, and Kate.

At the beginning of October, Parker, Matt and I drove to my parents lake house to see my parents, my sister and her little ones (my niece and nephew). They all loved Parker to pieces and we all had a blast.

This is Parker meeting her Aunt Jamie and cousins H and E for the first time!! I can't believe Parker was that
little!!

At the end of October, Parker and I drove down for my nephew's baptism and for Parker to meet her Great Grandmother's and Miss Kate. Matt has a childhood friend, Jay, and he and his wife had a little girl 6 weeks before we had Parker. So that weekend we got to meet lots of family and had a great time.

This is Parker and Kate. I love these 2 pictures because it describes the weekend perfectly! Parker was pretty fussy and Kate had no idea who she was or why she kept making those noises! The one of them sleeping together is just a cute picture and they are such sweet little girls!! Oh, and Parker had a milestone while at Kate's! She slept through the night for the first time! Little did I know that it would be a loooooooong time before that happened again and stuck!

This is Parker with her Great Grandmothers! She is the 6th Great Grand baby!!

And so concludes the highlights for October! It was a busy month of traveling but we met lots of family and continued to learn what this whole parenting thing is about! More to come, don't worry!! I'll post November highlights later tonight:) Parker just woke up from her nap and needs some attention!

D-Daddy!!!

This past weekend my mom and dad came up to see Parker. All the grand babies call my dad D-daddy. He got to see Parker in the hospital, but had to leave and did not get to hold her. So this visit was very special to us! He talked and sang to her and she smiled so big, I tried getting pictures but I just managed to get the sweet little half smiles. She loves her D-Daddy.
